More than 30% of all attendees to RKC Certs FAIL - do you know WHY?
Here are the answers:
• deficiency in the form in one or all of their 6 kb exercises
◦ swing/clean/press/TGU/snatch/front squat
• cannot pass the snatch test and/or strength test
(click here for the snatch test rules and RKC course requirements)
◦ 100 snatches in 5 minutes or less
▪ men with the 24kg/53lb kb, women with the 16kg/36lb kb with ONLY 3 "no counts" allowed
◦ pull up/bent arm hang
▪ 5 strict pull ups or chin ups for men
▪ 15 second military bent arm hang for women
• cannot complete the weekend due to lack of conditioning
◦ attendees will perform MORE than 1300 swings alone in the FIRST day of the certification...and that is just the tip of the iceberg!
◦ men are expected to use the 24kg/women are expected to use the 16kg for single and double kb work
◦ the graduation workout is saved for the last day...don't complete, don't pass...
• fail the teaching portion of the weekend
◦ attendees are graded on their instructional skills with a student, or two, or three...
Read what recently certified RKC, William Stokes has to say:
"When it comes to a kettlebell instructor Andrea is the crème de la crème. Andrea helped me on my journey for both the HKC and RKC, which I passed both and they were only a dream for me...Her extensive knowledge in movement, Kettlebells, and etc., makes her one of the top instructors in the country.
We can help you prepare for what you need to pass the rigorous RKC weekend with flying colors - I have prepped many RKC hopefuls and they have ALL passed.
Here is what you can expect from this RKC Prep Workshop Series:
• instruction and form correction on all 6 kb exercises
• individual training and sustenance plans specific to your needs
• homework and training logs to insure your success
• instruction and teaching practice - hone your eye!
• "ah-ha" drills and form fixes
• conditioning and strengthening protocols
• hand preparation and care
• information on what is important for the RKC weekend:
◦ what is expected of you if you are to be the standout student
◦ what to bring
◦ what to wear
◦ what to do if your hands tear before, during and after
• consultation on the right time to register (if you haven't already) to insure you will be 100% ready when the time comes
I recently attended the May 2011 RKC and was fully prepared and very ready to perform and meet the standards required to pass the instructor certification. Thanks to Andrea, my RKC weekend was a breeze -- her conditioning protocols and RKC prep class made the movement part of my weekend a slam dunk. It allowed me to really sink into all the incredible amount information and learning that is required to become a true coach and instructor. There were many candidates who came ill prepared and struggled throughout, and I know they were unable to get what I got out of the experience because they didn't prepare in the right way. You owe it to yourself to work with the best, Andrea is the one - Thanks!!!

Most RKC hopefuls that want to succeed will coach with an RKC instructor prior to their certification weekend == RKC instructor hourly rates run anywhere from $85-150 per hour == and more than one session is typical == save more than $500 with a workshop series like this and get the instruction you need to reach your goal!
We were hoping to bring the RKC to the Northwest in 2011, but have been unable to secure a location that fits the RKC needs. We are actively working with Dragon Door to bring the RKC to the Northwest in 2012. There will be an RKC Cert on the West Coast most likely in August of this year and most likely in San Diego.
